Passband/CACAL calibrators
To calibrate the ATCA at narrow bandwidths (using CACAL) and to determine
a bandpass, a strong source is needed. CACAL's delay algorithm is not linear
with the strength of the source, and so can effectively fail for less strong
calibrators. For bandpass calibration, the time required to reach a given
solution accuracy goes as the square of the time spent integrating on
the source.
Below are some suggested bandpass and CACAL calibrators (together with their
flux density at frequencies where they are recommended) for narrowband
observations.
