You are receiving this email because you may be using the Miriad package to reduce data taken with the ATCA. Recently we were alerted to a bug in the Miriad task mfcal that, in some cases, made incorrect bandpass calibration solutions for both CABB and pre-CABB data. After some investigation, we found that the bug was introduced in the last version of mfcal only, which was committed on April 13 2011. This bug has been corrected now, and the latest mfcal was committed on May 23 2011. All users are advised to update to the latest Miriad, and we also recommend that all data reduction with mfcal between April 13 and May 23 2011 be redone. As Miriad is under constant development and improvement, it is always advisable to update to the latest version before commencing data reduction. Miriad is available from: http://www.atnf.csiro.au/computing/software/miriad/ If you regularly reduce data with Miriad, we would suggest that you subscribe to the ATNF Data Reduction mailing list to allow us to more precisely target users that might be affected by Miriad issues in the future. To subscribe to this list, send an email to atnf-data-reduction-request@atnf.csiro.au with the word 'subscribe' as the body; the subject of the email is not important. All emails to this list are archived and can be found at: http://www.atnf.csiro.au/lists/atnf-data-reduction/ Announcements such as these, general information about Miriad changes, and user feedback and questions can also be found on the ATCA Forum, which is available to all ATCA users and proposers from a new URL: http://atcaforum.atnf.csiro.au/ We regret any inconvenience and time lost due to this bug. regards, Jamie Stevens ATCA Senior System Scientist
