CAOBS Failure

First check that a problem does indeed exist. Non-existent problems are invariably the hardest ones to diagnose. First redraw the display:
CAOBS$>$ redraw

Sometimes CAOBS can fail to start cycling. This is usually an observer typo, or alternatively your sources might be below the horizon. To check type the start command again (and ensure that your sources are above the horizon!).

If CAOBS still is not working then there is probably a more serious problem. Exit and restart CAOBS by:
CAOBS$>$ stop
CAOBS$>$ exit

 Or if CAOBS appears to be hung:
 Press \fbox{CTRL} + \fbox{C}
 Press the uparrow key, or type in:
 XBONES$ caobs

Wait two or so minutes for the program to load up. CAOBS recalls the details of the last SCHED file after a restart. However you can check that it has the correct file by:
Viewing the CAMON page
$>$ /status
Or in CAOBS:
CAOBS$>$ show file

Use the CAOBS$>$ set file filename if for some bizarre reason it hasn't recalled your last SCHED file. (Where filename is the name of your SCHED file). Then start again:
CAOBS$>$ start n/m
