Cars

One car is reserved for the use of observers with the keys kept on a hook in the Control Room. This car must not be taken off site. Observers may apply for the use of other Observatory cars, competing with other car pool users - please see the Administration Officer for details. There are often kangaroos and sheep grazing on the site; please drive carefully, particularly around dawn and dusk. There is a 60km/hr speed limit on site and 30km/hr near buildings. Headlights will dazzle kangaroos (and other animals) but they tend to react less suicidally if you `dip' (lower the beam of) the headlights when approaching them.
