How to Select Variables for XBONES Processes

Many tasks on XBONES need to know which visibilities to display or manipulate and what range or correlator channels to use (e.g., VIS, CACAL, CAOBS). This information is stored in a set of display buffers, called variables. Each correlator configuration has a default set of variables, you can also define your own and save them in a file. A suitable set of variables is selected automatically when the correlator is configured, so you only need to perform this step if you want an unusual setup, eg to avoid to interference. You can select the channel range which excludes interference if it is present. Although the correlator will still store all the channels, only the band that you select will be used for displaying in VIS and to calibrate the array with the cacal routine.
The default setup is to use the central 50% of each frequency band. This can be changed in the command line on the bottom of the CACOR window (displayed on PERICLES) with the following command:

tvchans c1 c2 [c3 c4]  Where c1 and c2 are the start and stop channels for frequency 1, and optionally, c3 and c4 are the equivalent for frequency 2.

To return to the default central 50% of each channel type:
tvchans default

For other commands relating to channel selection of the visibility variables refer to the CACOR commands and use the appropriate commands to set the variables.
