Introduction to the Array
If you are using the ATCA for the first time, you should arrive at
least one
day before the start of your observing time. Use this time to be
introduced to:
- the observing environment in the control room,
- the primary monitor (PMON) control panel and, especially, the emergency stow switch,
- the archiving station,
- your Duty Astronomer.
A tour of the antennas and instructions from either the DA or Robin
Wark (Robin.Wark@csiro.au) are strongly
recommended before you take control of the array.
