Pointing Errors

After each reconfiguration a pointing solution is determined at night when the thermal effects are least; typically with rms errors of 5-10". This global model solution degrades with time; rms errors of 20-30" are typically measured, although absolute errors of up to 60" have been seen.

For pointing critical experiments, see the section on reference pointing.
