Planning Your Observations

The following sections supply information to assist in preparing an observing proposal. Chapter 24 of Perley et al. (1989) describes how to plan an observation in considerable detail. Refer to the Introduction if you are not already aware of the ATCA's features.

Requests for extended observations of extremely important transient or non-predicted events should be forwarded to the Director. Requests for very quick monitoring observations can be sent to the ALERT group at Narrabri (alert@atnf.csiro.au).
