Travel to Narrabri

The Paul Wild Observatory is situated 21 kilometres west of the town of Narrabri, which is about 550 kilometres by road north-west of Sydney. The ATCA is built on the original Culgoora solar heliograph site (see Robertson 1992). Five antennas are located on a 3 kilometre railtrack and a sixth antenna is set 3 kilometres further west. A 214m northern spur is connected to the 3km track. Also on the site is the Sydney University Stellar Interferometer (SUSI), the University of Birmingham Solar Seismology Telescope, the Ionospheric Prediction Service Observatory and the Université de Nice's IRIS instrument.

For up-to-date directions on how to get to the Observatory by air, rail, bus or car, please see the information on the Narrabri Observatory visitors page
