ATCA Release notes for 2013APR

CABB modes: The 2013APR semester will commence with the "standard" CABB 1MHz continuum mode available, and with up to 16 zoom bands per IF available in the 1M-0.5k mode. The 64MHz CABB mode now provides 32 channels of 64MHz bandwidth, and with up to 16 zoom bands (each having 2048 channels across it) in each IF. CABB mode changes are mostly routine, except for changes to the 1MHz zoom mode and 64 MHz zoom mode, both of which require approximately one hour: this mode change is done by local staff or suitably trained others. In the graphical version of the schedule the requested CABB mode is shown in the top right corner of each block. The mode "1M*" designates those proposals which requested a different mode (usually the 64MHz mode) but without justification, and so they have been allocated the 1MHz (no zooms) mode.

Array Configurations: As noted in the call for proposals, arrays are only scheduled if (after TAC consideration and grading) there is sufficient demand for them. All arrays offered in the call for proposals have been scheduled in 2013APR.

Receivers: All antennas have now been outfitted with new 4cm-band receivers, relpacing the old 6cm/3cm ("C/X") receivers. These provide coverage over the range from 4.0 to about 10.8 GHz and thus fill the gap between the existing 6cm and 3cm bands.

Daylight Saving: Daylight saving in New South Wales ends at 3:00am Eastern Daylight Saving Time on Sunday April 7, when clocks will be put back one hour. The observing schedule is in AEST. During the daylight saving period, local "clock time" is one hour ahead of AEST, so 7am AEST is 8am daylight saving time.

Public Holidays: Monday April 1st is the Easter Monday public holiday. Thursday April 25th is the ANZAC Day public holiday. Monday June 10th is the Queen's Birthday public holiday in NSW.

Version History: Version 1 of the schedule was released on 2013 March 4. Version 2 of the schedule was released on 2013 April 5.
