CAMON has access to information from the numerous monitor points throughout the hardware. Hardware problems that require your attention cause CAMON's terminal to emit an alarm sound. The monitor points keep track of just about everything in the array, including themselves. CAMON can be run from within ASSISTANCE. A good observing strategy is to run ASSISTANCE and two or three CAMON windows continuously, and use CAMON to investigate problems identified by ASSISTANCE. CAMON reports its findings to you by way of pages.
The CAMON display window is split into 2 sections. Commands are entered in the top section and the requested page is displayed in the bottom section.
As it is possible to customise your own pages (to do this see the WWW documentation for CAMON), we can't list every CAMON page here. However, the supported pages are listed. Further information about CAMON can be found on the ATNF web pages.
