The edge of the Vela SNR



This is a combined ATCA and Parkes image, made at a wavelength of 21cm, of the edge of the Vela supernova remnant. Vela is a comparatively close by and young supernova remnant, being only 2000 lightyears away, and having exploded only 10,000 years ago.
